Schedule

First day – October 10

7:00 a.m. – Pilgrims gather at the square in front of the Sanctuary of Nazaré

8:30 a.m. – Holy Mass at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Nazaré

10:00 a.m. – Start of the walk

2:00 p.m. – Lunch in Alcobaça

7:30 p.m. – Arrival in Arrimal (accommodation)

Second day – October 11

6:00 a.m. – Wake up

7:00 a.m. – Start of the walk

12:00 p.m. – Lunch in Batalha

4:00 p.m. – Holy Mass in Batalha

6:00 p.m. – Arrival at lodging in Batalha

Third day: October 12

6:00 a.m. – Wake up

7:00 a.m. – Start of the walk

11:30 a.m. – Lunch at the Moeda caves

1:30 p.m. – Arrival in Fátima with procession and consecration in the chapel

2:30 p.m. – Holy Mass in Fátima

4:00 p.m. – End of the Pilgrimage

How to get to Nazare

By car

  • Distance: ~120 km

  • Time: approximately 1 hour 30 minutes via the A8 motorway (toll road).

  • Route: Leave Lisbon via the A8 towards Leiria and then take the exit for Nazaré.

By Bus

  • Company: Rede Expressos

  • Departure: Sete Rios Station (Lisbon), next to the Jardim Zoológico metro station.

  • Duration: approximately 1 hour 45 minutes–2 hours.

  • Frequency: Several departures per day.

  • Arrival: Nazaré Bus Terminal (near the centre).

  • Price: ~€10–€12 (you can buy tickets online or at the terminal).

By train

  • There is no direct train connection to Nazaré.

  • You need to take a train from Lisbon to Valado dos Frades (about 6 km from Nazaré) and then continue by taxi or local bus.
